Community Support

We offer direct support for our local community, very often through our links with other voluntary organisations in our area.

We use our expertise to directly support the work of the other organisations:

• promotion of volunteering, both local and international, to help with the physical work needed by many groups. One example is the help given by our European volunteers to the Community Hall for its village lunch work with older residents.

• advice and support with fundraising. We may have specialist knowledge or contacts which can help other organisations to achieve their goals. For example, we were able to help the local Scout group raise money to improve their building.

• international contacts, to bring similar organisations closer together across national boundaries. As an example, we are working with local childcare centres to build links to their counterparts across Europe.

We do not charge community organisations for our support.
